How to become a devoted member #4 Scripture: Acts 2:41-47 How to become a devoted church member. 1. See yourself as a permanent member of a church. 2. Compare your relationship to the church to that of a marriage. 3. See yourself as part of a building. Your presence in church is very important and it creates a lot of inconvenience for the building of the church when you are absent. Your absence in church can be compared to a build without a bathroom which is extremely unimaginable to have a home without a bathroom. Such is considered an incomplete home and is exactly what it feels like when you are absent from church. 4. Say good things about the Church. The choices of people are largely influenced by the recommendations of others. Do not invest your time in destroying the image of the church, rather gladly celebrate your church, speak well of your church and stop people from condemning the church of the Lord. Any time you say negative things about the church, remember you are hurting Christ directly. Jesus asked Saul why he was persecuting Him, when Saul was persecuting the Church. Recognize great and valuable things about the church. 5. Say good things about the Pastor. Saying good this about your pastor gives visitors a great expectation of him and great expectations creates a tangible environment for blessings. 2 Chronicles 9:1 Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with hard questions, having a very great retinue, camels that bore spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart Irrespective of the predicaments of King Solomon, he was still well spoken off, and it appealed to the Queen of Sheba to honor him. How do you see the man of God in your life and what are the things you say of him? John 4:48 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” Speak about the benefits and how the pastor has imparted your life. If you have not had a good relationship with your pastor, build one, get closer, get to know him and benefit from the man that God has placed in your life. It is easy for people to believe the testimony you give of pastor. 6. Say good things about the teachings in the church. The teaching in your church is designed purposely for you.
